Akbar Khan and his family, avid RV enthusiasts, have been renting RVs for vacations, but now they're considering buying their own. Khan shared his excitement, saying, "We're looking forward to spring and summer, getting out there hiking, camping, and this would be a luxury component to it."
They're not alone in their enthusiasm, as thousands of campers are expected to attend the St. Paul RV Supershow, where manufacturers are aiming to attract younger buyers with a diverse range of offerings. From vintage cruisers with a nostalgic appeal to mini-lofts resembling tiny houses, the RV market is evolving to cater to diverse tastes.
Darren Mann, the show's promoter, highlighted the shift, noting, "It used to be that a trailer was just a box on wheels, and the furniture was very plain. Everything was very plain. Now it's not. People want to treat themselves. They get in, their head out, they go somewhere and they're staying in luxury."
Simultaneously, the Minneapolis Boat Show is making waves, with an estimated 30,000 attendees exploring the latest in boating. Gary Adamich, a pontoon owner, expressed his interest in upgrades, noting the remarkable changes in boat designs over the past four years.
Despite the brisk winter weather, these shows offer a welcome escape. Adamich, reflecting on his wife's desire for a sunny getaway, humorously added, "If it was up to her, I would probably be out somewhere right now if we could. Somewhere, but that's not going to happen. Not in this winter."
